说明AEC-7O-878O OAK RIDGE,TENNESSEE. . .APOLLO MOONBOX. . .Special vacuum containers were fabricated by the Atomic Energy Commission’s Y-12 Plant for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. The aluminum containers are used by Apollo astronauts to transport lunar specimens back to earth. The Y-12 Plant, operated by Union Carbide Corporation, Nuclear Division, designed, fabricated, and performed much of the testing of the Apollo Lunar Sample Return Containers, nicknamed "moonbox".
