ОписаниеAEC-71-9145 ADVANCED TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES in the peaceful uses of atomic energy continues to be offered to foreign nationals at AEC facilities. In this photo, the use of a fuel red profilometer at Pacific Northwest Laboratory is being described by two Battelle-Northwest research scientists to Jagdish N. Bahl (centre), Phabba Atomic Research Centre exchange, Scientist ,Rombay, India. The profilometer is designed to measure and record irradiation-induced dimensional changes in fuel rods caused by fuel expansion and irradiation-induced fuel swelling or other actions. This General Electric Company profilometer is designed for underwater examination of irradiated fuel rods, a feature that eliminates the need to transfer the fuel road back and forth between the reactor and a shielded hot cell.
