ОписаниеA formal agreement for the carrying out of a dosimetry experiment at the Boris Kidric Institute at Vinca, near Belgrade, has been signed this afternoon, 1 February, in Vienna by Director General Sterling Cole (right) on behalf of the International Atomic Energy Agency and by Mr. Slobodan Nakicenovic (left), Under Secretary of State, for the Yugoslav Nuclear Energy Commission. The experiments which are to be completed on 31 May !960, are designed to ascertain the exact neutron and gamma-ray doses received by some persons during a very brief period of uncontrolled run by the zero-power reactor at Vinca on 15 October 1958. They are needed to evaluate fully the novel medical treatment, given to the persons involved, at the Curie hospital in Paris. The Agency will publish a complete scientific report on the results of the experiments. Standing behind Mr. Cole and Mr. Nakicenovic (from left to right): - Mr. Drago Baum of the Yugoslav Nuclear Energy Commission; Mr. J. Snizek, Director, IAEA; Mr. P.C. Szasz, IAEA; Mr. G.W.C.
