ОписаниеA Whole Body Counter, making it possible to detect, identify and measure very small amounts of radioactivity in human beings, set up by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at its headquarters in Vienna, Austria. The radioactivity of the body may be due to the natural radioactivity of elements which are its normal components, or to radioactivity introduced accidentally, through occupational exposure, or deliberately in the course of medical treatment. The picture shows (left centre) the steel room within which measurements are made in the background. On the right the multichannel analyser and other electronic instruments.
