The left section of the panel board shows the controls and instruments for the nuclear plant, the center section shows the controls and gauges for the steam section of the plant, while in the immediate foreground are shown the controls and instruments for the electrical section of the plant. Westinghouse Electric Corporation built the nuclear portion of the plant for the United States Atomic Energy Commission. Duquesne Light Company built the turbine-generator portion of the plant, and is operating the entire plant, delivering 60,000 kilowatts to the Pittsburgh district.
