ОписаниеAEC-75-9991 Prototype Cylinder is held by a chemist of Atlantic Richfield Hanford Company. These cylinders will be used to encapsulate the high-heat producing isotopes strontium and cesium after they have been removed. The remaining waste material is then solidified in underground storage tanks from the Hanford chemical processing waste stream. Note the double wall of the capsule to insure integrity and containment of the isotopes. Hastelloy metal will contain the solid cesium material and stainless steel will encase the strontium fluoride. The cylinders will then be safely stored in underwater basins at the encapsulation facility.
