DescriptionThe Government of AFGHANISTAN has requested the assistance of the INTERNATIONAL LABOUR OFFICE in order to improve the production methods of the small industries. Mr. J.C. AMIN, one of the international, experts of the ILO and specialist in tanning, has organised the so-called "Leather Project” Centre in CHARIKAR. This project has proved very successful, and many local tanners have made changes in their workshops thus bringing about a considerable improvement in the output and quality of the treated skins. The sales shop established by the Centre in the commercial district of KABOUL is at the disposal of the tanners. Credit must be given to: International Labour Office.
