DescripciónUSA's GIFT TO IAEA. On the 16th anniversary of President Eisenhower's speech which led to the foundation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United States of America handed over a $25 000 gift which will add considerably to the Agency's effectiveness in promoting world-wide standardization in the measurement of radiation for many branches of nuclear work. Ambassador Henry D. Smyth, the USA Member of the Board of Governors, presented the gift - a cobalt unit containing a 3 000 curie source of radioactive cobalt, complete with all operating equipment including a closed-circuit television set to facilitate remote control operation.
