DescripciónAn international project to perfect the use of nuclear radiation in food preservation and insure the safety of irradiated food has been set up jointly by the Austrian Studiengesellschaft fur Atomenergie (SGAE) , the European Nuclear Agency and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the SGAE's Institute of Biology and Agriculture in Seibersdorf near Vienna. Ten ee are taking part: Austria, Canada, Denmark, France, Federal Republic of Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and USA. The photo shows the SGAE's Institute of Biology and Agriculture in Seibersdorf near Vienna. It has laboratories for feeding trials with up to 3,000 rats or 6,000 mice. Miniature pigs are also used.
