DescripciónAEC-70-8965. HADDAM NECK, CONNECTICUT..The nuclear power plant of the Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company at Haddam Neck, Connecticut. The 575,000 electrical kilowatt facility, started up commercially in 1963, is operated by the Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company. The building housing the generator is sheathed in aluminium panels forced in vertical fluting with a porcelain enamel finish. Its pitched roof is covered with white marble chips with oblong ventilator hoods of metallic brown crossing over the peak in parallel rows. Both these colours are accented by blue panels which cover the station's office building. The architecture and colours were chosen to harmonize as much as possible with the surrounding landscape and traditional New England design. The plant was built by 11 Hew England electric utilities who share in its generating output. Credit: Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company
