Close-up of six television vidicon cameras carried by NASA’s Ranger B to secure photographs of the surface of the Moon. Two of the cameras will provide wide-angle views and four will give narrow-angle views. The photographs will be taken and radioed back to earth during the last ten minutes of the 68 hour flight as Ranger drops towards the lunar surface at a velocity of approximately 6000 miles an hour. The jet Propulsion Laboratory of the California Institute of Technology is responsible for the Ranger program to NASA.
