الوصفTests on controlled nuclear fusion are being carried out in the Juelich Nuclear Research Centre. The picture shows a toroidal experiment for fast magnetic plasma heating. Equilibrium and stability problems are being investigated in a magnetic field configuration of axial symmetry and in a range where the ratio of plasma pressure to magnetic field pressure (Beta ~ 0.1) approximately corresponds to the value required for future fusion reactors.
