الوصفExtensive coverage of the "Mission Iraq" in the course of which a team of international experts and IAEA inspectors uncovered the clandestine Iraqi nuclear weapons program. Thereafter rendering harmless the facilities and installing a long term monitoring system during a number of inspections. Additional material from the Gulf War, UN New York and the IAEA headquarters in Vienna. 202. 7. Beryllium hole - With the help of a crane a Beryllium hole is uncovered (heavy concrete slabs). Inspectors measure radiation with a special meter, and take a sample from an assembly which is taken from the barrel in the hole. To achieve this they drill a hole into the mantle using a meter-long drill. Iraqis watch. 4 min [10:00:00]; 203. 7. Road to Tuwaitha - Travelling shots: Iraqi vehicles, power lines, shops, wildernwss along the road to Tuwaitha. 1 min [10:03:09]; 204. 7. Field HQ exterior views. - Coming and going at the field HQ in Tuwaitha. A van is unpacked 2 min [10:03:59]; 205. 7. Tamuz ruins - Various pans on the bombed Tamuz II Nuclear Power Plant. Ruins and rubble. Pigeons. Rests of electrical installations. The reactor pool without assemblies. 4 min [10:05:14]; 206. 7. Al Atheer bunker - Inspectors and Iraqi officials stand in the dessert in front of a bombed bunker and discuss its usage. Then they go in. The bombs did their job. Cooper takes a picture. Various broken parts lie on the ground. Impressing hole in the meter-thick concrete of the controll rooms roof. 7 min [10:08:26]; 207. 7. Fake meeting - Iraqi officials and IAEA inspectors discuss some unknown matters. (The Iraqis did not want to be filmed during the conference, so they "played" conference for the camera.) 2 min [10:14:37]; 208. 7. Explosives in Al Qa Qaa bunker - Iraqis and inspectors come enter a bunker with highly explosive HMX. An Iraqi takes a sample for Cooper, but he puts most of it back into the drum (danger in plane!). There are wooden cases and drums. They are weighed (both ca. 44kg) and counted. 3 min [10:15:49]; 209. 7. Hot cells and glove boxes - A colourful little tractor outside another bombed building. Two inspectors enter a building passsing a radiation sign with a note "Bld 9, CELL C1" on it. Arnie leads through the building explaining the use of the various hot cells and glove boxes. The remote arms have been cut or disabled. Glimpses into the boxes. 7 min [10:18:43]; 210. 7. Filling in glove boxes with concrete - Iraqi workers (and officials?) mix concrete on a plastic sheet on the ground outside. Stones and the concrete are then filled into the glove boxes. An inspector checks the result. 3 min [10:24:46]; 211. 7. Heli flight to Ash Sharqat - Hooper in front of a "no smoking"-sign in a helicopter on the flight to Ash Sharqat. Shots out of the door: desert, fields, a river, hills, mountains, settlements, roads and blue sky. 4 min [10:27:13]; 212. 7. Heli landing place - Two helicopters with rotors still turning on the heli landing place. Inspectors get ready for inspection of Ash Sharqat plant. 2 min [10:31:00]; 213. 7. Switchboard boxes - Two inspectors inspect a site in the desert around the plant at Ash Sharqat. There arrayed are hundreds of switchboard boxes. Thorne consults somebody via radio set. Details of the boxes: meter, wiring diagram, button, label. Near at hand there lies a not yet difused fire-bomb in a pit. A trench is still littered with amunition. 4 min [10:32:17]; 214. 7. Hill views of Ash Sharqat - Ash Sharqat plant and the two helis from the nearby hills. A settlement at a river at the other side of the hill. Focus-zoom on the village through a barbed wire fence. 2 min [10:35:19]; 215. 7. Ruins of Ash Sharqat - Exterior and 'interior' views of the heavily bombed building complex at Ash Sharqat. Calutrons had been installed there. Thorne inspects the ruins. 2 min [10:36:56]; 216. 7. Destruction of centrifuge parts - The Action Team and other supporting UN-staff destroy centrifuge parts. They trample cylinders, bend pipelines, knock down installations and make notes and pictures of it. Especially one of them (Chemical Team?) enjoys destroying things. Edwards is still not satisfied by the level of destruction achieved. 4 min [10:38:52]; 217. 7. Destruction of magnetic coil dies - A factory hall. A strong crane lifts the magnetic coil dies up and turns them around. Canada instructs the Iraqis. Then a welder renders them useless by welding holes into the metal surface. Inspectors supervise the process. Many shots of the welder in action. There is a huge Italian press ("Boldrini, Milano Italy") in the hall. Rukloh films with a handycam. 5 min [10:42:12]; 218. 7. Magnetic coil - A single intact magnetic coil among rubble in the T-area 1 min [10:46:58]; 219. 7. Chemical samples at Loc C - Inspectors take samples from chemicals outside a yellow cake storeage. They even check the trashcan. Several little tubes are filled with suspicious looking liquids. 3 min [10:47:19]; 220. 7. Yellow cake storeage - Hundreds of red and blue barrels. A forklift transports new (black & white) barrels from a truck into the storehouse. 1 min [10:49:26]; 221. 7. Erwin Kuhn's story - Erwin Kuhn tells about an incident with nitrogas at Tarmiya. 1 min [10:50:26]; 222. 7. Destruction of centrifuge parts - In a factory hall: centrifuge cylinders and other larger parts are destroyed by pressing. Smaller parts simply with a hammer. Rukhlo supervises and films with his handycam at the press. Canada inspects the small parts. An Iraqi guard with a gun in his holster watches also. A welder renders small steel components useless. Closeup of welding. 5 min [10:50:55]; 223. 7. Tuwaitha bunker exterior - Exterior views of the bunker in Seq.187. 1 min [10:55:25]; 224. 7.
