DescriptionThe Institute of Medicine of the Juelich Nuclear Research Centre is engaged in the development of diagnostic methods using radioactive isotopes. The "Gamma Retina" is used for the cardiac functional diagnosis: the transport time of the isotope indium-113m being transported along with the blood through the different segments of the heart is being recorded with a special camera, the facet camera "Gamma Retina" (right side of picture). The distribution of the isotope can be seen on the television screen. The time curve of activity by quantitative measurement can be read from each individual crystal recorder; these curves are being evaluated.
