DescriptionAEC-70-8905 Construction at Diablo Canyon: The circular structure rising in the center of the photograph is the reactor containment. When completed it will be 215-feet high and have an inside diameter of 140 feet. The columns rising in the background are for the turbine-generator pedestal in a building which will be 400-feet long, 95-feet high and 145-feet wide. At the left can be seen the beginning of the auxiliary building which will contain the control center and monitoring and instrumentation systems for the 1,060,000 kilowatt nuclear generating plant.
